My name is Macbeth, Thane of Cawdor, Thane of Glamis, and King of Scotland. I live in a castle located in Inverness with my loving wife. I'm a brave and courageous warrior and recently served as general in King Duncan's army. Due to my great bravery I was named Thane of Cawdor. I'm loyal to my country and would give my life in defending it. I'm lucky to have a wife that supports me in everything I do. We've been through a lot in the last little while and the doctor says that my wife is deeply troubled mentally. I've recently become king of Scotland due to the tragic murder of King Duncan, my cousin. My best friend Banquo was also killed. If he were alive his offspring were prophesied to be king and that would have ruined everything. Duncan's two sons have fled the country. Malcolm went to England and Donalbain to Ireland. I think these two may be a plausible threat to my reign as king. I'm also concerned that Macduff, Thane of Fife, may pose threat. He also escaped to England and could be planning to overthrow my reign as king along with Malcolm. My massagers have informed me that Malcolm has joined forces with the king of England and could be forming an army in attempt to defeat me. I've been seeing these three witches who tell me my future and so far all their prophesies have all come true. I went to see the three witches earlier today and they told me to beware of Macduff. They also told me that no man born of a woman could harm me and that I shall not be defeated until great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane hill shall come against me. I have all the power I ever wanted and no one can harm me. |
